BP Developed New Processes for Petchem Raw Materials Production

CHEMMONITOR.COM - The UK-headquartered multinational oil and gas company BP plc has recently announced about is two new state of the art technologies, mainly SaaBre and Hummingbird. The technologies were developed for key petchem raw materials production. Namely, SaaBre is applied in the manufacturing of acetic acid from syngas, while Hummingbird is the route for converting ethanol to ethylene through dehydration.

The usage of SaaBre is predicted to contribute into a reduction in variable manufacturing costs. The technology will also lead to capital efficiencies.
