Japan-based aromatic chemicals producer NS Styrene Monomer Co., Ltd. recommenced operations at its No.2 styrene monomer (SM) facility, which was idled in early July 2014. The plant was shut due to feedstock supply problems.  Situated in Oita (Japan), the facility manufactures about 190,000 metric tons of SM annually.

In November 2014, Indonesia-based company Styrindo Mono Indonesia (SMI) will suspend operations at its No.1 styrene monomer (SM) plant for a 30-day maintenance turnaround.
