Showa Denko Launched Production at its Facility in Oita

CHEMMONITOR.COM – Showa Denko (Japan) started commercial operations at its new ethyl acetate facility in Oita in Japan. The plant applies a new process technology that uses solid heteropolyacid catalyst.

The conventional process involved acetaldehyde conversion into ethyl acetate. The new process includes addition of acetic acid to ethylene to provide efficient ethyl acetate production.
