CHEMMONITOR.COM - By late 2014, USA-based plastics, rubber, and latex producer Styron is going to leave the polycarbonate (PC) market and to idle its PC facility at Freeport site (Texas, USA). This plant is the only PC plant of the company in North America.
The PC facility produces about 100,000 tonnes of the product per year. Officially the plant belongs to the Dow Chemical Co., a USA-based chemical corporation.
