Sinopec and BASF Opened New SAP and Acrylic Acid Facilities at Verbund Site

CHEMMONITOR.COM – BASF (Germany) and China-based Sinopec opened new acrylic acid and superabsorbent polymers (SAP) units at the BASF-YPC Co. Verbund site in China.

The facilities will improve C3 (propylene) value chain and will serve escalated downstream demand in China. The SAP facility will have an output of 60,000 tonnes annually and will serve feminine care materials, baby diapers and adult incontinence materials demand.
