Solvay Specialty Polymers to Establish New Li-ion Battery Materials Plant in Italy

CHEMMONITOR.COM - US-based high-performance thermoplastics company Solvay Specialty Polymers is going to explore alternative manufacturing processes for lithium ion (Li-ion) battery materials. For that, the company launched LIFE+ GLEE project.

Within the framework of the project, Solvay Specialty Polymers plans to replace N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) organic solvent with water in the rechargeable Li-ion battery manufacturing process through a cathode protection technology.
