CHEMMONITOR.COM - Chemical company based in Ashland (Kentucky, USA), Ashland Refining Company, is going to suspend operations at an unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) and gelcoats manufacturing plant at Kelowna site (British Columbia, Canada). The plant is scheduled to be shut in late June of 2014. The decision to shut down the facility resulted from several reasons such as the economic downturn in the North America, closure of some composites consumers and closure of the rail spur to Kelowna.
