CHEMMONITOR.COM - China-based company Shanghai Golden Phillips Petrochemical ceased operations at a high density polyethylene (HDPE) facility located in Shanghai (China) in early March of 2014. The plant was shut due to decreased cost of ethylene, which is the raw material for HDPE production. The HDPE plant of Shanghai Golden Phillips produces about 135,000 metric tons annually.
