Butamax to Launch Butanol Production in 2015 at Its Restored Plant

CHEMMONITOR.COM - In 2014, butanol is likely to be used as a substitute to ethanol in the US renewable fuels market assessed at USD 26 billion.

A JV established by BP and DuPont, biofuel company Butamax Advanced Biofuel, is currently debottlenecking its ethanol plant located in Minnesota (USA) to launch production of butanol in commercial volumes in 2015, though commercialization is likely to take time.
