US FRX Polymers to Produce Nofia Polyphosphonate in Belgium

CHEMMONITOR.COM - US-based flame retardant plastics and additives company FRX Polymers, Inc. developed a new plastic, which is Nofia polyphosphonate, and is going to launch a full-scale production plant in Antwerp (Belgium). Nofia polyphosphonate is known as a first polymer made from phosphorus. It is expected to replace halogen-free flame retardant polymers. A new plastic is likely to find its applications in building and construction, electronics and transportation markets.

Polycarbonate, PBT-type polyesters, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), PC/ABS are amid target resin systems.
