CHEMMONITOR.COM - Finland-based nickel mining enterprise, Talvivaara Mining Company plc, has recently announced about its intention to reorganize and rationalize its operations and to idle metals recovery plant. The restructuring proceedings are expected to start soon.

The company’s metals recovery plant is predicted to be off stream for a month. Additionally, the producer is planning to suspend ore manufacturing for around half a year.

Talvivaara’s decision was driven by the company’s suffering from operational problems and the drop in nickel prices by over 20% since the beginning of 2013.
