Michelin, Axens and IFPEN Launch Joint Research Project

CHEMMONITOR.COM - Michelin, IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) and Axens, three France-based firms, joined hands to startup a research project, named BioButterfly. The partnership’s aim is to improve the process for the production of butadiene from biological sources.

BioButterfly, which was initiated to find sustainable feedstock sources for elastomers, will allow to manufacture environment-oriented and cost-effective synthetic rubber.
