Uhde to Supervise Construction and Startup of Fertilizer Unit

German company ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, which specializes in engineering and construction services, and Joint-stock company “Grodno Azot” with headquarters in Belarus signed a contract for the construction of a nitric acid facility and urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) plant.

The future complex with the capacity of 1,200 tonnes of nitric acid per day and almost 3,4 tonnes of liquid urea ammonium nitrate solution per day will be located in Grodno, the west of Belarus. The process technologies business unit of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, Uhde, is to provide engineering services, equipment, material, and to manage the plant’s construction and startup. All the processes at the plant are expected to be eco-friendly as the future complex is going to be equipped with tail gas treatment unit. The facility is predicted to be on stream in 2016.
