Chinese Petchem Company Suspended Operations at Its Three Units

CHEMMONITOR.COM – The Beijing-headquartered oil refining and petrochemical company, China Petrochemical Corporation, suspended operations at its three affiliates, Zhanjiang City-based Sinopec Zhanjiang Dongxing Petrochemical Co., a chemical producer Guangdong Zhanjiang New Zhongmei Chemical Industries Co. and Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical Co.

The companies were shut after they violated environmental laws. The two first companies disposed waste water in an improper way, the third one posed environmental risks by breaking industrial safety.

Sinopec Group shut the subsidiaries after a television report.
