Oman Oil Company Plans to Start Petchem Project

CHEMMONITOR.COM – The Muscat-headquartered oil investment firm Oman Oil Company is going to manufacture purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and polyethylene terephtalate (PET). The company will put up a petchem unit at Sohar site. The new petrochemical facility will generate about 1 million tons of PTA-PET annually.

Moreover, Oman intends to found a firm to produce the materials in the country.

Oman Oil Company plans to invest about USD 801 million in the construction.
