Petchem US Company to Start Two Expansion Projects

CHEMMONITOR.COM – The US-based petrochemical company with headquarters in Houston, Westlake Chemical Corp, is going to switch from ethane to propane as raw material while producing ethylene at its unit at Calvert City site.

At present, the unit is able to generate around 450.1 million pounds annually. The conversion, which is expected to commence in April-June of 2014, is likely to increase the plant’s annual output to approximately 631 million pounds.
