Methanol Unit to Be on Stream at Geismar Site in Louisiana by Late 2014

CHEMMONITOR.COM – The Vancouver-based Canada methanol company Methanex Corporation is considering the relocation of its unit from Chile to the site Geismar in the USA. In Chile, the producer possesses four plants at Cabo Negro site. Their overall output reaches about 3.9 million metric tons per year. Methanex is likely to decide about the relocation in April-June next year.

In early Q1 in 2012, the company announced about the relocation. The unit’s annual capacity reaches about 1.1 million metric tons.
