American Biaxis to Complete Expansion Project in H2 2019

CHEMMARKET.COM – Canada-based company American Biaxis, an affiliate of packaging materials manufacturer and distributor Winpak Ltd., plans to raise biaxially oriented PA film (BOPA) production capacity from 11,000 tonnes per year to about 14,000 tonnes per year at its Winnipeg site. The company is set to invest more than USD 40 million or EUR 33.2 million into this project. The expansion will occur in H2 of 2019.

Winpak established American Biaxis Inc. in the late 1990ies, with a 51 percent owned joint venture with Sojitz Corporation (Japan) to manufacture and distribute BOPA film in the Americas.
