Brazil Petchem Leader to Acquire Part of Solvay Indupa S.A.I.C.

Brazilian petrochemical company, which is a leader in polymers and biopolymers, Braskem, is going to purchase 70,59% of the total and voting capital from the Argentina–based company Solvay Indupa S.A.I.C. The acquisition is assessed at about USD 290 million. Braskem is expected to increase its production capacity of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and caustic soda to 1.25 million tons annually and 890 kilotons per year, respectively.

Moreover, Braskem is set to organize a public tender offer to non-controlling shareholders.
