BASF to Raise Engineering Plastics Capacity in Asia

CHEMMONITOR.COM - German chemical company BASF is expected to put up engineering plastics compounding plant in Yesan, Korea. The plant will produce polyamide and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). The construction works are set to be commenced by early 2014, while the operations are likely to be launched in late 2015. The new facility is to provide over 30 people with new jobs.

An initial annual capacity of the future plant will account for 36,000 metric tons.  The total compounding capacities of the company in the Asian market are to enhance from 130,000 metric tons to 225,000 metric tons.
