New Technology for Production of Butadiene from renewable feedstocks

CHEMMONITOR.COM - Petrochemical company based in Brazil, Braskem S.A, and US biotechnology firm Genomatica inked an agreement to establish the JV. The parties are going to develop new technology for the manufacturing of butadiene from renewable raw materials. Braskem is willing to strengthen its leadership in the production of chemicals from renewable feedstocks. Additionally, within the framework of this partnership, the companies are going to set up pilot and demonstration plants.

The parties are poised to find competitive routes of green butadiene development.
