CHEMMONITOR.COM - Honeywell (the US) is to build a new refrigerant plant at its production site in Louisiana, the US. The investments in the production unit totaled USD 300 million.

The facility will produce HFO-1234yf automotive refrigerant with GWP less than 1, what is 99.9 % lower if compared to the currently used HFC-134a refrigerant.

HFO-1234yf will allow the plant to enhance fuel economy and scale down emissions of greenhouse gas.
