BASF Presented 1,4-butanediol (BDO) from Renewable Raw Material to Its Customers

CHEMMONITOR.COM - The largest chemical producer in the world, German company BASF presented first commercial volumes of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) made from renewable raw material.  The process of BDO production is based on the patented fermentation technology of the US company Genomatica, which is technology leader for the chemical industry.

Currently, BASF is manufacturing the product at its site in Germany, USA, Japan, Malaysia and China.
