CHEMMONITOR.COM - Evonik, a Germany-based specialty chemical manufacturer, is to enlarge its isophorone (IP) and isophorone diamine (IPD) manufacturing capacities by constructing a new plant in Shanghai (China). The project’s investments total USD 134 million. The facilities are to be built in Q1 2014.

The project’s aim is to supply Asian buyers with high-quality goods, supporting Evonik’s expansion strategy and dedication to this high-growth area. Due to their closeness to Asian customers, the facilities will assist in reducing production lead time, enhancing local service and increasing flexibility to respond to demand changes.
