New Specialty Polymers Plant to Go on Stream in China by Q1 2014

CHEMMONITOR.COM - Belgian chemical company Solvay S.A. and a China-based company Shanghai 3F New Materials Company Limited (SH3F) are going to form a JV at Changshu site to produce fluoromonomer TFE and PTFE polymers. The companies intend to meet the demand for high performance fluorinated polymers in the Asian market.
Solvay and SH3F will possess 20% and 80% in the JV respectively. The production plant of the JV is expected to be operational by Q1 of 2014.
