CHEMMONITOR.COM - The Mosaic Company, the phosphate fertilizer maker with headquarters in the USA, is figuring on obtaining the phosphate assets belonging to CF Industries, Inc., the US-based firm. The purchase cost is estimated at over USD 1.2 billion.

This acquisition is destined to aid in increasing Mosaic’s fertilizer capacity to 10 million tons from today’s 8.2 million tons. СF Industries will supply Mosaic with about 1 million metric tons of ammonia each year. The transaction, which is to be closed in H1 2014, is not likely to change the firm’s shareholder distributions.
