Showa Denko K.K. Constructed New Chemical Alumina Facility in Indonesia

CHEMMONITOR.COM -  Japan-based chemical products and industrial materials company Showa Denko K.K. and an Indonesian diversified mining and metals producer PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk finished the construction of a chemical alumina plant in the Tayan District, in Indonesia.

Sales and mass production  is predicted to start in H2 of 2014. Plant annual capacity of chemical alumina is about 300,000 tons.  The product finds its main applications in the production of refractories, building materials, abrasives, and materials for LCD glass, chemicals for water treatment.
