Majority Stake of Romanian Company Sold Through an Auction

CHEMMONITOR.COM – An influential person of Romania, Dan Diaconescu, won a right to purchase a majority stake in the Romania-based chemical company Oltchim S.A. He will buy it for about RON 203.1 million (USD 58.5 million, EUR 45.1).

Diaconescu will also have an opportunity to buy the Arpechim oil refinery. The refinery, which produces raw material for Oltchim S.A., has a capacity of about 70,100 barrels per day.

The Vienna-based Austrian oil and gas company OMV is the owner of the refinery.
