CHEMMONITOR.COM – The Mexican chemical producer Mexichem and the US-based manufacturer Occidental Chemical Corporation (OxyChem) plan to organize a JV to put up a cracker. The parties inked a MOU in late July of the current year.

The cracker will be able to generate about half a million tonnes of ethylene per annum. The US-based company will utilize the material at its facility, located at Ingleside site, to produce vinyl chloride monomer (VCM).

The ethylene cracker is likely to be on stream in 2016.
