Essar Group and BASF Plan to Put up JV

CHEMMONITOR.COM - India-based conglomerate Essar Group and chemical company BASF (Germany) are planning to form a petchem JV assessed at USD 2 billion. Currently, the parties are in the process of negotiations. Essar Group is set to become an integrated oil and gas company.

The company plans to expand its refinery in Vadinar (Gujarat, India). The refinery’s production capacity reaches 20 million tonnes per year.
