Silicon Technology (Pty) Ltd Bought By the US Silicon Manufacturer

CHEMMONITOR.COM - Globe Specialty Metals Inc., the silicon and ferrosilicon manufacturer, headquartered in the US, has bought Silicon Technology (Pty) Ltd, the silicon alloys maker based in South Africa. The sum of the deal remains unknown.

Globe Specialty Metals Inc. is the owner of the two 27MW and 31 MW idle furnaces, which are planned to be restarted in H2 2014. The annual capacity of the firm amounts to 45, 000 metric tons.
