CHEMMONITOR.COM - Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed new plan on reduction of biofuels under renewable fuel standard (RFS) for 2014. EPA aims to maintain the biodiesel annual production rate at 1.28 billion gallons. The current annual rate totals 2 billion gallons.

The new EPA standard will contribute to a decline in biodiesel production, thus leading to the shutdowns and layoffs of the production units in the USA.
