PET Market Continues to Be Oversupplied

CHEMMONITOR.COM - Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) markets are facing a significant oversupply, inducing older factories to close. New capacities do not cease to be added while PET demand remains on a downward trend.

The carbonated soft drink market is facing a slowdown year over year. Thus, the market of the diet soft drink category continues to see a 6% decline per year. Meanwhile, water bottles demand is rising at around a 4.7% annual rate.
