Imported Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) in August Decreased from July in the Chinese Market

CHEMMONITOR.COM – In August 2012, imported monoethylene glycol (MEG) in the Chinese market was estimated at about 659,090 metric tons, up by 11.77% from July. The imports decreased by around 1.7% if compared with the same period in 2011.

MEG imported from Kuwait totals approximately 45,195 metric tons, down by about 36.68% in line with unexpected shutdown of a MEG unit.

The Kuwait-based petrochemical producer EQUATE Petrochemical Company suspended operations at its MEG unit in late July in a view of a fire.
