CHEMMONITOR.COM – Russia’s WTO accession is likely to entail losses in the domestic polymer market.

Import duties will be reduced from 10% and 20% to about 6.6% in 2013-2014. New polymer facilities are expected to be introduced in the Russian market in 2017.

From 2013 till 2017, Russia will give a part of the market to other countries.

In 2011, consumption of polyethylene and polypropylene in the Russian market exceeded the supply by roughly 16.6% and 15.3% respectively.
