CHEMMONITOR.COM – September contract price for styrene in the Italian market showed a hike of about EUR 44 per ton, though benzene values reduced by approximately 36 per ton. Companies selling polystyrene (PS) intend to increase September prices, after the previous month contracts were settled with upward surges of EUR 102-127 per ton. Meanwhile, import prices from the Asian market are demonstrating competitiveness.

The increase in styrene prices was entailed by enhanced costs of ethylene and spot values of styrene.
