Spot Plastics Markets to Face a Hike in Contract Prices

CHEMMONITOR.COM – Lately, values of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) have slightly reduced.

The inventories in the markets are decreased at the moment. Some petchem plants in the USA had to go off stream because of hurricane Isaac.

Contract prices for August PE jumped to about USD 0.04-0.06 per pound. In August, a contract price sank by USD 0.016 per pound, while in September, it will rebound by USD 0.026-0.04.

The energy market witnessed a significant dip in gas prices.
