Albemarle Corporation and BASF Signed Agreement

CHEMMONITOR.COM – Albemarle Corporation and BASF have inked a deal under which Albemarle will sell Chemetall to BASF for USD 3.2 billion. Germany-based company Chemetall develops technologies and system solutions for surface treatment. The company operates 21 production sites, 10 R&D centers and 24 sales offices. It is present in more than 20 countries.

The purchase gives BASF an opportunity to acquire a leading company in the surface treatment business.
