European Steel Market Predicted to Improve in 2014

CHEMMONITOR.COM - In 2014, the situation in the European market for steel is predicted to improve. The apparent consumption of steel in Europe is expected to go up by about 3%. In 2013, the consumption fell by approximately 2-2.5%.

General strengthening in macroeconomic activity will contribute into the steel market’s improvement, with GDP to grow by around 1.3% in 2014. End markets of steel are forecast to show growth by 2%, after a fall of 3% in 2013.
