North American PP Prices Grew up, Costs for PE in the Region Remain Unchanged
CHEMMONITOR.COM – Prices for regional polypropylene (PP) in the North American resin market increased by 5 cents per pound last month, while in June the prices enhanced by 3 cents per pound. However, these two escalations of costs are not enough to improve PP pricing. Last month regional PP costs showed a fall of 3 cents.
In April 2013, the decrease in North American sales for PP exceeded 5%. The fall of over 36% in export sales worsened a domestic sales fall of about 4%. 10-15% of PP production capacity is currently underused in the market.
