CHEMMONITOR.COM – Members of European Biodiesel Board, a non-profit organization that promotes the use of biodiesels in the EU, want to protect the European biodiesel industry from unfair biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia. Concerns about the biodiesel industry in Europe resulted from the decision of the European Commission not to adopt high anti-subsidy duties on imports from Indonesia and Argentina and to defer the matter indefinitely.
The aggressive market behavior of Argentina and Indonesia results mostly from the differential export taxes (DETs) that lead to dumped prices on the European industry.
